As Turkey Day approaches we so often get asked what our secrets are for making the perfect turkey, how do we cook them, how do you keep them from drying out etc. SO, we put some thought into how to give our readers the best possible chance of turning out a great holiday meal without sounding like the Butterball hotline. (I'm pretty sure you all know not to cook the bird in the dishwasher!) So, here is what we decided.
Mark and I will each make a turkey in our own way. Mine will be Ala' Jen, a spin on a fairly traditional bird and Mark, as usual, will do something completely outside the box labeled traditional. We will host a little get together and our friends, mostly mine so I can win, will judge the turkeys and decide which one they like best!
We will photograph and document everything so you will have the recipe and techniques we used for our birds. We will NOT photograph the tears of the looser when it's all over, well, maybe we will.
So that's the plan, stay tuned for more over the next week or two....
