One Speed Pizza - Review times FOUR

As a long time fan of chef Rick Mahon and The Waterboy restaurant in downtown Sacramento, his newest venture, One Speed Pizza in East Sacramento was a must try. Though it opened back in the summer, I have been stalling, hoping to find an opportunity to avoid the very busiest hours (I heard it has been packed since he opened the doors) and go with a large group so we could sample more items. When we were trying to decide where to have our TCW staff meeting, it was quickly decided, kind of a ‘no brainer’, that One Speed was it. Photoxpress_coffee_rev_747538Don’t you love the sound of the milk steaming at your local coffee shop? And the smell of the espresso as it brews! dsc_5401How many of you watch Iron Chef? Remember the old original show from Asia, where the secret ingredient was always the weirdest thing you had ever seen? Probably most of you have at least seen it. Watching the chef’s create such amazing dishes apparently from newly known ingredients in just one hour, what could be more exciting? How about seeing it in person?

Destination Mendocino

When you travel to any destination, near or far, you never know what to expect. Something I find is that very often the places tourists go most often have either the worst or the most expensive food or worse, both. As a foodie, I am often disappointed. When people are traveling they want to have the best time possible. We don’t often get to escape the hard work and stress of our lives. The last thing we need is to be disappointed in a meal or feel like we have to skip something that sounds good because the prices are just ridiculous. We recently took what started as a scouting trip for the site and ended as just a great trip to Mendocino and the surrounding areas. Here are some of the places we stumbled into that we would be happy to recommend.
