Celebrating Luck, Love and Lavender

champ_4929380I believe true love occurs when all parties involved believe that they are the lucky one to have the other person in their life.

It is not that often that you get to witness luck and love in action…but I was able to stand in the midst of both on Saturday night.  Friends and family gathered to celebrate the pending nuptials of Chef Jen and Chef Mark.  We were the lucky ones to be able to bear witness to their love.

I created this special Lavender Champagne Cocktail for Jen and Mark in honor of their luck in finding each other and their love which is evident to all.  They both love lavender so this was part of the inspiration as well…I do have to say, these are pretty addicting!

So celebrate luck, love and the lavender with someone special in your life – and then ask yourself, “Am I the lucky one?”

Jen and Mark’s Lavender Love Potion:

  • 1 bottle of chilled sparkling wine (not too sweet, Cava works great)

Lavender Sugar:

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tbs culinary lavender buds
  • Place sugar and lavender in a food processor and process until sugar is superfine

Lavender Simple Syrup:

  • Add lavender sugar to ½ cup water and bring to simmer on stove to create your “potion” aka simple syrup.  Let cool and strain.

To Create the MAGIC:

  • 1 tsp Lemoncello for each serving
  • 2 tsp Lavender syrup
  • Champagne
  • Organic Lavender sprigs, optional

Add 2 tsp of the lavender syrup and 1 tsp of Lemoncello to each champagne glass, fill with champagne.  Garnish with organic lavender sprigs if desired.

Cheers!
